So far heading into the Christmas Holidays for Liverpool FC, it has not been a very bright season for them. They are the winners of 2 straight, but are not very hot in the goal scoring list. They have a record of 6-3-6, which is not usual for a team that finished so close to the Premier League title last year.
Brendan Rogers released Luis Suarez after his 26 month suspension for abusing Juventus defender Giorgio Chilleni and Suarez has been a disappointment for FC Barcelona. Rogers picked up Mario Balotelli on his way to signing a forward to play alongside the struggling Daniel Sturridge.
Unfortunately, Balotelli has yet to find the net for Liverpool ever since joining the team in September. So far, Steven Gerrard and Raheem Sterling each have 3 goals for Liverpool while Adam Lallana and Jordan Henderson have also scored against West Bromwich Albion in it's lonely 2-1 win.
However, the worst transfer ever is of Italian star Mario Balotelli. Brendan Rogers picked him up hoping that he would help Daniel Sturridge as a pair. To think about his years with Inter Milan, Manchester City and AC Milan, Balotelli was expected to lead Liverpool to the 2014-15 Premier League title. In the shape of Liverpool, it looks very unlikely. Balotelli has been replaced several times by Rickie Lambert because of his failure to score goals.
Simon Mignolet has struggled in goal, while Martin Skrtel and Kolo Toure have been extremely ineffective. There is not much to say about their struggling right backs, but Steven Gerrard has still been good enough on free kicks. The English captain has scored 3 goals and 2 assists. He has not been the best at his age either. Liverpool looks to bring themselves up the standings against Manchester United on Sunday, December 14th 2014.
